Join the McLeskey Comprehensive Breast Center, a part of Brock Cancer Center and Sentara Leigh Hospital, as a Full-Time Breast Imaging and Intervention Technologist

Position and Department Overview:
  • Conduct and evaluate all diagnostic and interventional breast ultrasound procedures, exercising independent judgment and creativity.
  • Employ suitable techniques to guarantee high-quality ultrasound images and precise analytical outcomes.
  • Adhere to all quality control and quality assurance standards as mandated by state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Deliver exceptional patient care while consistently practicing radiation safety protocols.
  • Execute and assess all prescribed screening and diagnostic mammograms for patients.
  • Carry out additional mammogram views as requested by the Radiologist.
  • Assist the Radiologist and/or Surgeon with specialized procedures, consulting with the Radiologist as needed, including stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sterile techniques.
  • Accurately complete laboratory documentation and transport specimens to the designated locations, ensuring proper wound care and monitoring.
The McLeskey Comprehensive Breast Center is recognized as an American College of Radiology Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. Our center has achieved NAPBC accreditation in key areas of breast imaging and cancer detection: mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and ultrasound-guided biopsy.

Required Education:

Trade School Graduate - Radiologic Technology

Licenses and Certifications:
  • ARRT (M) and ARRT (R)
  • ARRT(BS) or ARDMS required
  • Basic Life Support
Required Experience:
  • 2 years of mammography, 1 year of stereotactic, and 6 months of breast ultrasound experience required

Job Summary

Qualifications:

TS - Trade School Graduate: Radiologic Technology (Required)
