Position Overview

Sentara Healthcare is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team at the Heart Hospital Advanced Imaging Center located in Norfolk, VA.

Significant Sign-On Bonus Available for Eligible Candidates

Work Schedule:

Full-time position, Evening shifts from Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 11 PM.

Department Summary:

As part of the Heart Hospital Advanced Imaging Center, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of cardiac imaging professionals, focusing on producing high-quality imaging studies. The field of cardiac imaging is rapidly advancing, particularly following recent guidelines from the American College of Cardiology that emphasize Cardiac CT as a primary imaging modality for patients experiencing chest pain. Within our center, you will gain expertise in performing complex cardiac imaging for high-acuity patients and enhancing patient care in the cardiac domain. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary care team, including cardiologists, cardiac nurses, and imaging specialists, all of whom possess extensive experience in the field. Our center also plays a crucial role in research, providing imaging support for innovative products and procedures at the forefront of cardiac care. There are ample opportunities for professional growth and development, as our team values the sharing of knowledge and skills with emerging technologists. We are open to training CT technologists who may not have prior cardiac experience.

Qualifications Required:

  • Graduation from a Trade School in Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT or CNMT certification is mandatory
  • Advanced CT registry in ARRT or CNMT to be achieved within two years of employment
  • BLS Certification is required

As a CT Technologist, you will perform Computed Tomography (CT) and CT-guided interventional procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Responsibilities include providing education to patients and their families, ensuring safe operation of equipment, completing necessary documentation, maintaining equipment cleanliness and functionality, and managing supply inventory for examinations.
