Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Nurse to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our Medical/Respiratory Care Unit, you will provide direct nursing care to patients requiring complex assessments and interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain comprehensive data from patients, families, and other healthcare providers to develop a holistic picture of patient needs or conditions.
  • Analyze and synthesize data to determine diagnoses or conditions relevant to care.
  • Identify optimal outcomes for patients in collaboration with patients, families, and interprofessional teams.
  • Develop plans that prescribe strategies and alternatives to attain outcomes, using clinical judgment in collaboration with patients, families, and interprofessional teams.
  • Implement plans, employing strategies to promote and maintain a safe environment, and coordinate implementation with patients, families, and interprofessional teams.
  • Evaluate processes and progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, evaluate own practice, and maintain current knowledge and competence.
  • Communicate effectively in all areas of practice, collaborate with patients, families, and interprofessional teams.
  • Use clinical inquiry and integrate best evidence into practice.
  • Apply existing evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in healthcare to critical care nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient age-specific needs and clinical needs.
Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • No experience required.
Work Environment

This role is a rotating shift position, working 24 hours per week, with a schedule that includes day and night shifts, as well as every other weekend. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills.
