Position Summary

As a Residential Closing Specialist, you will play a vital role in facilitating the joyous celebrations of closing day. You will oversee all facets of residential escrow transactions, from managing documentation to coordinating signing events, ensuring that each step towards homeownership is a delightful experience.

Your collaboration with real estate professionals, lenders, buyers, and sellers will be essential in guaranteeing seamless and timely closings, with a strong focus on client satisfaction and peace of mind. Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing documents, coordinating with all parties involved in the transaction, disbursing funds, and maintaining precise records, all while providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with clients to manage new and existing title orders.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring efficient handling of inquiries.
  • Review title commitments for accuracy, including insured parties, values, and rates.
  • Ensure property descriptions on commitments align with surveys, policies, and other legal documents, confirming their accuracy and completeness.
  • Review title requirements and obtain necessary documentation to create a marketable title.
  • Schedule and coordinate closing appointments with all parties involved.
  • Prepare escrow settlement documents as per company, lender, and attorney instructions.
  • Conduct closings by explaining documents to involved parties, answering questions, and securing necessary signatures.
  • Collect and distribute all funds and documents to the appropriate parties.
  • Maintain follow-up to ensure completion of transactions and issuance of policies.
  • File and record transaction documents for the issuance of final policies.
  • Travel to off-site locations as required for closings.

The Escrow Officer may be assigned additional tasks to support departmental objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Serve as a liaison with realtors, lenders, and attorneys, providing excellent customer service.
  • Possess knowledge of title insurance, escrow terminology, and related services.
  • Understand real estate documents, local escrow procedures, and mortgage lending principles.
  • Be familiar with local and state tax and recording standards.
  • Demonstrate excellent decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.

Education and Experience

Associate degree with a minimum of two years of experience in the real estate title industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses

Resident Producer License with the State and a valid State Driver's License are required. Notary Public certification is preferred.

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based industry programs, including RamQuest software.
