Metal Components LLC is seeking a skilled Spot Welder/Drill and Tap to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for executing spot welding operations to fabricate assemblies, using jigs and fixtures. Drilling and tapping are also essential components of this role.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and plan daily/weekly work schedules with supervisors, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to listen to, read, and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and spot welding.
- Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
- Bolt and clamp parts in position for spot welding using jigs and fixtures.
- Set up equipment and spot weld parts using resistance welding equipment.
- Regulate spot weld equipment and check, test, and/or sort parts before and/or after spot welding, reporting any irregularities.
- Drill and deburr holes to correct size and tap, inspecting holes per requirements.
- Accurately record production data, including quality, labor reporting, manufacturing time, scrap, and downtime information.
- Problem-solving and other duties assigned by supervisors.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills, typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in welding.
- One year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, machinery, and blueprint reading, typically acquired through 1-3 years of manufacturing experience, with attention to detail.
- Manual dexterity for operating machinery, hand tools, and computers.
- Observance and adherence to company policies.
- Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and lead personnel to complete production requirements.
- Strong teamwork orientation, willing to train or assist others, less experienced operators.
- Punctual and dependable, prioritizing production throughout scheduled hours and excellent attendance.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment, involving lifting materials and product up to 50 pounds.
- Machinery operation requires safety equipment, including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and protective shoes/boots.
- Employees must demonstrate physical ability to work in a standing position, between 8-12 hours per day.
