Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings, requiring practical skill and knowledge in various trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.

Responsibilities:
  • Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
  • Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
  • Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
  • Paint structures and equipment.
  • Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
  • Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
  • Hang doors and install door locks.
  • Replace broken windowpanes.
  • Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Operate aerial equipment to reach elevated levels to perform maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain interim secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of each craft trade which performs the individual functions for building operations, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Hazardous Weapons Cleanup training to include lead, gun powder, and frangible ammo clean up and proper health safety and disposal.
  • Basic knowledge of custodial, recycling, and working with hazardous materials.
  • Ability to work assigned schedule.
  • Knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
  • Ability to complete work in a timely fashion and keep accurate track of the work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks in a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules under pressure of deadlines while maintaining acceptable performance standards.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  • Works with systems and equipment in hard-to-reach places requiring standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in tight and uncomfortable positions.
  • Endurance to perform repetitive tasks over long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.).
  • Ability to work alternate shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer, to include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to perform on-call duties when scheduled and report to work within one hour of notification.
  • Valid driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
  • Ability to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test, criminal record check, and motor vehicle check.
