Job Overview

The PC Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting users with various technical challenges. This individual is responsible for diagnosing, researching, and resolving user issues at the PC level through the IT Ticketing system. Capable of addressing straightforward technical problems, the specialist also tackles moderately complex issues and provides Tier 1 support, along with some Tier 2 assistance, while escalating more complex matters as necessary. Collaboration with remote support teams is essential for effective issue resolution across various technological platforms, including computer hardware, software, mobile devices, and telecommunication systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver exceptional customer service while resolving technical challenges faced by users.
  2. Provide technical assistance across a diverse range of devices and platforms, including PCs, peripherals, and networking equipment.
  3. Engage with users to determine system requirements and develop appropriate processing procedures and modifications.
  4. Image and configure PCs for new users and set up mobile devices for onboarding.
  5. Communicate with users through various channels to evaluate the scope of issues and identify any preliminary resolution steps taken.
  6. Assist with the installation and configuration of new hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  7. Stay informed about technological advancements and best practices, offering recommendations for new software and hardware solutions.
  8. Collaborate closely with third-party software support teams to facilitate issue resolution.
  9. Participate in projects suitable for a level 1 support technician as needed.
  10. Ensure the security of computer equipment, data files, and supplies.
Time Allocation
  • Customer service for technical issues: 65%
  • Troubleshooting IT-related challenges: 25%
  • Research and development: 10%
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in PC support.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Solid understanding of hardware and software maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment

This position involves constant work in a climate-controlled environment, with frequent sedentary tasks and occasional standing, lifting, bending, and kneeling. The role may require occasional driving and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
