Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Systems/Applications Engineer to join our team at Bruker. As a key member of our service organization, you will be responsible for providing technical support and training to our customers on our advanced metrology and instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instrument Installation and Qualification
    • Install and qualify Bruker's metrology equipment and instrumentation, including unpacking, setup, and interconnection of sub-components and assemblies.
    • Independently troubleshoot and overcome start-up issues using creative solutions to ensure objectives are met.
    • Qualify the instrument and accessories using standard customer samples.
  • Customer Support and Training
    • Work directly with customers to diagnose and resolve issues with Bruker Semiconductor instruments, including complex electro-mechanical hardware/software issues.
    • Form and drive teams of senior internal and external personnel to resolve complex issues outside of your area of expertise.
    • Create and maintain records of activity in support databases.
  • Preventative Maintenance and Optimization
    • Perform basic maintenance and calibration of instruments and accessories.
    • Re-certify instruments using both Bruker and customer samples.
  • Application Development and Support
    • Empower customers to optimize performance of their Bruker instruments through support and instruction.
    • Teach theory of operation and train new users on instrument operation.
    • Demonstrate instrument ability on Bruker or customer samples, applying professional experience, judgment, and industry statistical practices to enable new applications.
    • Provide post-sale user and application training and support samples, leveraging industry experience and soft skills to fully enable customers on the instrument.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Technical degree; or 3 years and a Bachelor degree; or a Master's degree without experience.
  • Proven understanding of engineering problem-solving methods, statistical process control, and Gauge repeatability and reproducibility calculations.
  • Proven experience of analytical capability, theoretical understanding of physics, working knowledge of electronics, mechanics, control systems, computers, networking, and common tooling such as oscilloscope, multi-meter, etc.
  • Proven experience to independently provide clear, logical, and effective communication.
  • Proven experience to develop, communicate, implement, and execute assigned projects, including achieving required deliverables on time.
