Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Live Hanger to join our production team. As a Live Hanger, you will play a critical role in ensuring the humane handling and processing of live birds. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in meeting our high standards of quality and animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Live Bird Handling: Hang live birds in the shackles in a humane manner, ensuring minimal stress and discomfort to the animals.
  • Quality Control: Sort out Dead on Arrival (DOA) birds and remove them from the production line.
  • Production Efficiency: Assist in the production of quality food products by performing tasks as required, including setting up and tearing down workstations and lines.
  • Animal Welfare and Regulatory Compliance: Understand and adhere to animal welfare and regulatory requirements, ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of ethics and compliance.

Requirements

  • Physical Demands: Stand for extended periods, walk, and reach with hands and/or arms. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25-40 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme cold. Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat.

  • Attendance Incentives: $1/hour weekly attendance incentive and $1/hour night shift premium.
  • Pay Increases: Pay increases at 30- and 90-days.
  • Job Shadowing and Mentorship: 30-day job shadowing and mentorship program.
  • Time Off: 6 paid holidays, vacation after 90-days, and 2 personal days/year after 90-days.
