Job Overview

The Department of Consumer Affairs seeks a highly skilled and experienced investigator to join our team. As a High-Level Investigator, you will play a critical role in ensuring consumer protection and enforcing laws related to consumer affairs.

About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to protecting consumers and promoting fair business practices. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting complex investigations, analyzing evidence, and making recommendations for enforcement actions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and comprehensive investigations into alleged violations of consumer laws and regulations
  • Analyze evidence, interview witnesses, and gather information to build cases against violators
  • Make recommendations for enforcement actions, including fines, penalties, and other remedies
  • Collaborate with other investigators, attorneys, and stakeholders to achieve case objectives
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in consumer laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in investigative work, preferably in a government agency or regulatory body
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as law, criminology, or business administration
