Responsibilities:
  • Meet with student veterans to explain available funding programs and requirements for federal Title IV funds and alternative resources.
  • Screen students for various funding types, assisting them in securing all available resources tailored to their veteran status.
  • Collect all required documentation to complete the initial financial aid process for veterans and assist in securing adequate funding sources to cover educational expenses.
  • Provide entrance counseling to student veterans to encourage responsible debt management and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to regulations as set forth by governing agencies and institutional policies specific to veteran benefits.
  • Collect and process necessary paperwork required for the Student Finance Department to approve financial aid plans for veterans.
  • Ensure timely submission of all collected paperwork to the Student Finance Department, adhering to established deadlines.
  • Document all interactions with student veterans accurately and maintain detailed records in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Student Finance team to ensure a seamless and supportive experience for veteran students.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working with student veterans and understanding their unique financial needs.
  • Strong knowledge of VA regulations, policies, and benefits programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
