About the Position

The Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist will provide mental health services to homeless veterans enrolled in the Alaska VA Healthcare System's Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs. The incumbent will work primarily with the Domiciliary Care for Homeless Veterans and the Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews, screenings, and assessments of potential residents
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for each veteran assigned
  • Provide high-quality case management services to all residents enrolled in the program
  • Offer clinical services, including individual and group treatment, and make referrals as needed
  • Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation
Requirements
  • Master's degree or doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy from a program approved by COAMFTE
  • Full, current, and unrestricted MFT license to independently practice marriage and family therapy in a State
  • At least one year of post-master's degree experience in the field of marriage and family therapy work
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in residential mental health settings
  • Experience working with populations with substance use disorders
  • Experience working with populations with housing and vocational challenges
