Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist PRN is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify communication and swallowing needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
  • Evaluate patient progress regularly and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Document patient progress and communicate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
  • Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director to determine appropriate patient placement and treatment.
  • Perform modified barium swallow tests without supervision.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or obtain within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Speech Pathologist license in the State of Texas.
  • Masters Degree in speech pathology.
  • A minimum of 2 years SLP experience in a hospital setting required, post CFY.
  • Experience with trachs and attending multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Availability to work 2 days a week, no weekends at this time, and 2 holidays a year.
