Job Summary

The Chief Administrative Officer will serve as the primary point of contact for administrative support in the absence of Hospital Administrative Staff. This role will interface with all departments to resolve problems and ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to nursing and other departments to resolve issues and improve patient care.
  • Work with Resource Staffing Department to stabilize core staffing levels and ensure adequate personnel coverage.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service Department to resolve customer complaints and issues related to nursing services.
  • Manage bed management and diversion issues with Administrator on call, Nursing Leadership, and Patient Placement Coordinators.
  • Review deaths for Medical Examiner/Coroner and ensure accurate completion of death certificates.
  • Work with Employee Health and Infection Control to enforce policies and procedures related to patient and staff safety.
  • Serve as Planning Chief and temporary Incident Commander in the event of a disaster.
  • Collaborate with Security on miscellaneous issues and work with Plant Operations and Engineering to resolve facility-related problems.
  • Act as a resource and support to Nursing Management on policies and procedures, including drug diversion, fitness for duty, and human resource issues.
  • Manage critical personnel issues in the absence of management, including fitness for duty, insubordination, and theft.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • 3 years of Nursing experience required
  • 5 years of Nursing experience preferred

Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

Current South Carolina R.N. License
