Role Summary

The Grants Administrator plays a crucial role in identifying and securing funding opportunities for the GSP International Airport. This position involves researching potential grants, preparing comprehensive applications, and managing awarded grants to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. The Grants Administrator collaborates closely with airport staff to pinpoint projects that may be eligible for funding through various grant programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research to identify and apply for federal, state, and local grants, ensuring adherence to applicable standards and guidelines.
  • Engage with governmental agencies to guarantee compliance with program requirements regarding funding and accountability.
  • Analyze legislation related to grant programs to ensure the airport's compliance and stay informed about new developments.
  • Collaborate with airport leadership to identify potential projects that could be funded through grants.
  • Draft and prepare grant applications and proposals, including writing, reviewing, and editing documentation.
  • Facilitate and participate in meetings focused on grant needs and application processes.
  • Generate monthly reports detailing the status of funded and non-funded projects.
  • Maintain accurate payment records, review invoices, and manage receipts.
  • Coordinate with relevant staff to ensure timely completion of grant requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide updates on grant status as per the established reporting cycle.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in grant administration, including experience in identifying, obtaining, and managing grants.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple grant projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in developing and implementing administrative programs and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver comprehensive financial and statistical reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of public administration principles and grants management.
  • Familiarity with research techniques and current grant information sources.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a logical and analytical approach.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting systems.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Capability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to professionalism in all interactions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Licenses and Certifications

  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Certification as a Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) is preferred.

Working Conditions
