Job Title: Sales Manager

This role entails making rapid decisions, often based on limited information. Novel ideas and confidence are required to deal with quickly changing conditions. Challenge and pressure are the norm, with shifting priorities and new problems to solve daily.

The successful candidate will be a generalist with a focus on strategies, rather than specific tactics. They will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Team Management: Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans for the territory, setting clear goals, quotas, and performance metrics for the team.
  • Territory Management: Conduct in-depth market research, analyze competitor offerings, and identify new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and refine the sales process for efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging data and best practices.
  • Coaching and Development: Provide ongoing coaching and support to team members, identifying individual strengths and areas for improvement, and delivering targeted training programs.
  • Motivation and Engagement: Foster a culture of high performance and employee engagement, celebrating successes and recognizing individual and team contributions.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and implement necessary action plans to ensure team success.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients within the territory, understanding their needs and exceeding their expectations.
  • Negotiation and Closing: Secure profitable deals through effective negotiation and closing.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a sales management role, preferably within the lighting industry or a related field.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building high-performing teams. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth understanding of the LED lighting industry and its applications.
  • Ability to coach and develop individuals to their full potential.
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sports-driven competitive nature. Experience playing or coaching in a competitive sport.
