  • Provide technical support to staff and customers, including troubleshooting and resolving issues with hardware, software, and interfaces.
  • Proactively notify staff and customers of outages and system changes.
  • Maintain written and oral communications with customers, technical support staff, and management.
  • Perform research on problem resolution and provide guidance to less experienced technicians.
  • Write database queries and stored procedures, and perform basic web design.

Requirements:

  • Considerable knowledge of automated tools for diagnosing and solving information system problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to provide support and technical assistance to computer users.
  • Ability to perform complex personal computer system troubleshooting, both on software and hardware problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting end users in a Microsoft Windows environment, including support of MS Office applications, troubleshooting, and resolving a variety of desktop, server, and remote access problems.
  • Experience in writing database queries and stored procedures and perform basic web design and development skills.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to input and retrieve data from a computer, and may require lifting and installing computer equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
