Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Honsador Lumber. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely operating a truck to transport goods to various destinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Drive a truck to destination in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to state and federal regulations.
  • Delivery and Off-Loading: Deliver and off-load material, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Log Maintenance: Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Communication: Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions and updates.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect truck equipment daily, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Cleaning and Repair: Clean the inside of the truck and perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires and installing light bulbs.
  • Cargo Security: Position blocks and tie rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Must have a Hawaii CDL Class B Drivers License, be detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED and one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Skills and Certifications: Meets all federal and state driver's license regulations, must have a Commercial Driver License (CDL).
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, frequently required to walk and talk or hear, and occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or lift.
Work Environment

The work environment requires the employee to work regularly near moving mechanical parts and to be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and the employee occasionally is exposed to harsh outside weather conditions.

This position may require the employee to use safety equipment such as protective eyewear, earplugs, gloves, safety shoes, etc.
