Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tank Truck Driver to join our team at Honsador Lumber. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely transporting bulk goods to our customers across the island.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a tank truck to destinations in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Deliver and off-load materials, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of truck logs, adhering to state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues via telephone or radio to receive delivery instructions and updates.
  • Conduct daily inspections of truck equipment, including tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Clean the interior of the truck to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs, to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
  • Secure cargo during transit by positioning blocks and tying rope around items.
Requirements
  • Hawaii CDL Class B Drivers License
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Previous CDL B driving experience and a driving abstract
Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent, combined with one to two years of related experience and/or training, is required for this role.

Mathematical Skills

The ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, is essential for this position.

Skills and Certifications

This role requires a Commercial Driver License (CDL) and adherence to all federal and state driver's license regulations.

Physical Demands

The incumbent will regularly sit and frequently stand, walk, talk, or hear. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Environment

The work environment requires the employee to work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate, and the employee may be occasionally exposed to harsh outside weather conditions.
