Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Honsador Lumber. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a commercial truck to destinations in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Deliver and off-load materials, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Maintain accurate truck logs and comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to receive delivery instructions and updates.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks, including tire checks, brake maintenance, and fuel level checks.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the truck interior.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires and replacing light bulbs.
  • Secure cargo during transit using blocks and rope.
Requirements
  • Hawaii CDL Class B Driver's License.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Previous CDL B driving experience and a driving abstract.
Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED and one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit and frequently required to walk and talk or hear.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Environment

The work environment requires the employee to work regularly near moving mechanical parts and to be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee occasionally is exposed to harsh outside weather conditions.
