Material Coordinator Job Description

Overview

Bowhead is seeking a highly skilled Material Coordinator to support our operations in Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between various buildings in accordance with Facility Manager or Facility Staff Engineer priorities.
  • Review production schedules and confer with Facilities Staff to determine material requirements.
  • Arrange the transfer of materials to meet production schedules, examining material to verify type specified for current projects, and computing the amount of material needed for specific job orders.
  • Compile reports of quantity and type of material on hand and coordinate with Facility Staff for the repair and assembly/installation of facilities unique material.
  • Utilize basic level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and management and respond to instructions/assignments.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Two (2) years of experience in coordinating and expediting the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies.
  • Basic level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Ability to lift 25-50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

Security Clearance:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
