Position Overview:

The Production Support Specialist plays a crucial role in managing an assigned production area or line(s) to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance on the production floor while demonstrating leadership through a thorough understanding of all related positions.
  • Guide both new and existing team members on company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Joy Cone's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safety Policies.
  • Conduct regular production, sanitation, and quality inspections according to established procedures, promptly reporting any discrepancies to management and taking necessary corrective actions.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively within the designated work area.
  • Participate in safety, food safety, sanitation, and leadership training sessions as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Identify and report defective materials, food safety risks, and potential product contaminants accurately.
  • Assist in the setup and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to prioritize work responsibilities effectively within the assigned area.
  • Excellent attendance is mandatory, including punctuality and minimal unapproved absences.
  • Participation in safety, food safety, sanitation, and leadership training is required as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Capable of identifying and reporting defective materials, food safety hazards, and potential product contaminants.
  • Ability to perform 800-hour preventative maintenance on cake cone Turnbull Ovens.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and following instructions.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with team members and actively participate in team meetings.
  • Able to define issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capable of operating fork-lift/lift equipment.
  • Able to safely lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, climbing, or squatting may be required.
  • Possess manual dexterity and the ability to grip, pinch, handle, reach, or feel frequently.
  • Must be able to stand continuously and walk frequently.
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Occasional work in a scissor lift at elevated heights may be necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated good work history and attendance is essential.
  • Must be certified to pack a minimum number of cake cone packs.
