SENIOR MICROWAVE COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER (STARLINK)
Our mission includes leveraging our extensive experience in aerospace engineering to advance Starlink, the premier broadband internet system in the world.

Starlink operates the largest satellite constellation globally, delivering high-speed, reliable internet access to millions of users. Our team is responsible for the design, development, testing, and operation of every component of this system, including thousands of satellites, user-friendly receivers, and the integrated software that connects it all.

We are just beginning to explore the vast potential of Starlink, and we seek exceptional engineers to enhance its benefits for communities and businesses worldwide.

The Satellite Payload Engineering team is tasked with creating the RF devices that drive our satellites and ground antennas, including power amplifiers, waveguide components, reflectors, and antennas.

The ideal candidate will join a diverse team dedicated to developing cutting-edge wireless digital communication systems, from antenna design to protocol implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Simulate and model advanced communication systems
- Collaborate with system architects, RF engineers, antenna specialists, modem/DSP, and ASIC engineers to delineate hardware and software responsibilities
- Evaluate the feasibility of various designs to support architectural frameworks
- Derive top-level specifications for RF links and subsystems
- Characterize and analyze overall system performance
- Provide technical assistance to regulatory, coordination, and market access teams

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in RF/microwave circuit design within research or industry settings
- 1+ years of experience with 3D EM simulation tools (CST, HFSS, FEKO, SEMCAD, EMPro, TICRA, or XFDTD)

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering with a focus on RF/microwave circuits or electromagnetic theory
- Experience designing linear and non-linear circuits such as power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, mixers, filters, and PLLs
- In-depth knowledge of RF passive components
- Familiarity with radio test equipment including spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, and network analyzers
- Experience in characterizing radio performance at microwave frequencies
- Understanding of digital communication systems, spread spectrum techniques, and modulation types like QPSK, APSK, and QAM
- Proficiency in RF/microwave design using ADS, HFSS, AWR, or similar tools
- Experience with schematic and layout design using Altium Designer or equivalent PCB design software
- Skills in Matlab, Python, C++, or similar programming languages for modeling and analyzing RF systems
- Experience in Python and/or LabVIEW for test automation
- Knowledge of digital communication theory, focusing on bit error rates and system noise figures
- Expertise in RF/microwave design across Ku, Ka, V, and E-band frequency ranges

- Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as necessary to meet mission-critical deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:
Pay range:
Senior RF Systems Engineer: $160,000 - $220,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on individual qualifications and experience.
