Senior Manager - Reliability Engineering

Amazon is seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager - Reliability Engineering to play a critical role in launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive critical component identification and vendor selection and qualification requirements at the component level.
  • Develop system-level reliability models and related reliability assessments and risk analyses for spacecraft optimization.
  • Lead a team of reliability subject matter experts in design, analysis, and test.
  • Establish reliability allocations across vehicle subsystems to meet reliability targets.
  • Review, guide, and support subsystem teams with FMECAs, predictive modeling techniques, and test plans.
  • Establish test capabilities and failure analysis as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Reliability Engineering, Physics, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience building and leading teams.
  • 7+ years of experience with state-of-the-art PCBAs and electronics component packaging.
  • 7+ years of experience with failure analysis activities and root cause analysis.
  • 7+ years of experience with accelerated life testing (ALT, ESS, HALT/HASS).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Reliability Engineering, Physics, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with design for reliability in space environments.
  • Experience with full range of environmental stress testing, fatigue testing, vibration and shock testing, electrical stress testing, ESD testing.
  • Experience with space hardware qualification (MIL Std 1540/SMC-S-016).
  • Extensive experience with off-the-shelf and custom component and board-level reliability prediction and correlation with test data.

Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,600/year in our highest geographic market.
