Job Summary:

As a Direct Support Professional at Cap City Supported Living, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with varying needs and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct care and support to clients based on their individual needs and service plans.

Assist clients with daily tasks, such as housekeeping, meal preparation, and personal care.

Coach and assist clients in developing essential life skills, including safety awareness, financial management, and social interaction.

Facilitate access to community activities, exercise, and social events to promote clients' overall well-being.

Monitor and support clients' medical needs, including scheduling appointments, administering medications, and providing emotional support.

Provide safe and reliable transportation for clients to appointments, social events, and other activities.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions, services provided, and any notable incidents or concerns.

Collaborate with clients, family members, and other support staff to ensure seamless care and support.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no more than 6 points).

Current proof of auto insurance (state minimum).

18 years or older.

FBI and BCI background check (5123:2-1-05.1 ORC).

CPR and First Aid training (5123:2-2-.1 ORC).

8hr DODD training.

Medication Administration Training.

Any other trainings deemed necessary by Cap City Home Care Services.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily in residential settings.

Physical and Mental Demands:

Must be performed with or without accommodations.

Requires mobility and physical activity, including standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, and occasionally lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.

Requires the ability to defend oneself and clients in physically aggressive situations through the use of approved de-escalation techniques.

Requires communication, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken and written word.

Requires hearing to receive and communicate detailed information through oral communication and ensure ability to supervise clients.

Requires seeing to complete paperwork, observe, and supervise clients.

Requires the ability to reason and be empathetic to clients and teammates.

Requires the ability to cooperate with clients, teammates, supervisors, and outside supports for clients to exchange ideas, information, and instruction.

Requires the ability to work under stress and emotionally changed situations.
