Job Overview

Takkion Ops Management LLC is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team. As an integral member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that financial information is recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record journal entries as assigned during the close process for multiple legal entities.
  • Ensure transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed, and supported in accordance with company policies and controls.
  • Prepare multiple balance sheet account reconciliations for each legal entity.
  • Provide variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts for management reporting purposes.
  • Assist with recording fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system, including depreciation entries.
  • Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
  • Maintain a system for capital accruals and work with project managers to ensure completion estimates are accurate.
  • Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.
  • Answer and resolve internal and external customer inquiries regarding financial results, including audit inquiries.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and prepare explanations as needed.
  • Perform internal audits regularly to identify miscoded activity.
  • Create reclass entries with proper documentation to correct miscoded activity.
  • Provide support and prepare account transaction detail as requested by management.
  • Complete ad hoc reporting as requested.
  • Scan documents into the accounting software.
  • Complete and file sales tax returns.
  • Play a role in the annual audit.
  • Complete regulatory and/or governmental filings.
  • Support special projects and assist others as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
  • Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods.
Physical Requirements

  • Fingering, picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand.

  • Repetitive motion, substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Visual Acuity Requirements

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, using measurement devices, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Working Conditions

The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
