We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ambulatory Care Assistant to join our team at WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals. As a key member of our outpatient clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our medical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative and clinical support to medical staff in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Assist with patient care and treatment as directed by attending providers.
- Perform various duties related to patient care, including administering medication, performing tests, and documenting results.
- Provide clerical support, including scheduling appointments, preparing medical records, and maintaining inventory.
- Act as a chaperone during medical examinations and provide assistance to patients, families, and visitors as instructed by the physician.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent experience.
- West Virginia state criminal background check and federal background check (if applicable).
- Certification in Basic Life Support within six months (or 30 days for hires after March 3, 2024).
- Registration or Certification as a Medical Assistant.
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant or in patient care.
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to biohazards and communicable diseases. The ideal candidate will be able to respond quickly to varying demands from providers and patients.
