Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Leader to lead a cross-functional team in the design and development of compressors for Trane Technologies. As a key member of our Applied Compression Network of Excellence, you will be responsible for guiding the team through the entire design cycle, from requirements definition to laboratory testing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a cross-functional team of engineers, sourcing, and manufacturing personnel to achieve project deliverables.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with system-level engineering, controls, heat exchanger, product, manufacturing, and other teams to ensure seamless compressor integration into the application.
  • Manage communications with peers, senior leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure project progress and success.
  • Coordinate purchasing, machining, inspection, build, and test of prototype compressors for laboratory validation.
  • Transfer the design to the production implementation team and provide support as needed.
  • Mentor early- and mid-career engineers to assist in developing future project leaders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (or directly related technical discipline) and at least 10 years of work experience in a mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Compressor and/or HVACR system knowledge is preferred.
  • Able to work with a diverse, global team in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific regions.
  • Broad understanding of HVACR systems integration of the compressor into the system.
  • Outstanding verbal communication, technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills.

What We Offer:

Trane Technologies offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $120,000 - $150,000, plus an incentive plan. We also offer comprehensive benefits and programs, including health insurance, parental leave, fertility benefits, and adoption assistance. Additionally, we provide opportunities for professional growth and development through our wellness program, 401K match, and tuition advancement, reimbursement, and assistance programs.

Location:

This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite a week) and will be based out of our La Crosse, WI office location in the same facility as our Research & Development Laboratory.
