The New York Genome Center is seeking a dedicated Statistical Genetics Research Specialist to join our innovative team. This role is essential for advancing our research in statistical genetics and contributing to the analysis of complex genetic data.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize statistical and computational techniques to evaluate extensive genetic and phenotypic datasets.
- Develop, document, and optimize analytical methods for internal applications and community sharing.
- Collaborate in the preparation of scholarly articles for publication in reputable journals.
- Present findings at internal meetings and contribute to lab discussions.
- Engage actively in laboratory activities and support the onboarding of new team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Genetics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, R, Java, or C/C++.
- Experience with Unix/Linux systems and basic shell scripting.
