About the Opportunity

American Institutes for Research (AIR) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Researcher Intern to join our Workforce Development program area. As a Researcher Intern, you will play a critical role in supporting our research activities and contributing to the development of evidence-based solutions to address complex workforce challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct systematic literature reviews to inform research activities
  • Assist staff in reviewing, identifying, and developing scholarly information describing research findings
  • Participate in the collection, analysis, and review of research and evaluation data
  • Develop spreadsheets and databases to support project activities
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative research data and contribute to the reporting and interpretation of findings
  • Support communication, dissemination, and outreach activities as needed
Qualifications
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a Doctoral degree program in a field such as economics, psychology, sociology, statistics, computer science, public policy, public health, or other social science-related fields
  • Experience with data collection and analysis methodologies and techniques, such as survey design, analysis of program administrative data, and conduct of structured interviews, observations, and focus groups
  • Experience using statistical software programs such as R, SPSS, or Stata to clean and analyze large data sets
  • Knowledge and skills with multivariate statistical analyses
