Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Unit Director with Compass Group Careers, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and control of departmental functions and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Evaluation and Development: Review and evaluate existing programs, services, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Workload Management: Monitor the flow and quality of work to ensure timely completion of workload and adherence to facility standards and regulations using computerized programs for preventive and corrective maintenance, construction projects, financial management, and energy controls.
  • Departmental Budgeting: Prepare and manage departmental budgets, including the utilities energy savings program.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage and ensure regulatory compliance with the Joint Commission, State Health Department, EPA, DEP, ADA, UST, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Staff Guidance and Development: Provide guidance, training, and motivation to staff.
  • Client Relationship Management: Successfully provide effective client rapport.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor work performance and prepare performance evaluations for personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years hospital engineering maintenance experience at Director or Assistant Director level required.
  • Project Management: Experience in hospital project and construction management preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Must have working knowledge of the Joint Commission, NFPA, and other healthcare regulatory agencies.
