Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Learning and Development Lead to join our team at Ahold Delhaize USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the learning and development team and supporting the strategic development of a broad-based development framework to enhance organizational learning and capabilities across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement learning strategies to address leadership, management, and technical skills training
  • Oversee the formulation of training learning objectives, develop training program outlines, and determine instructional methods
  • Select and develop learning aids such as training handbooks, facilitator guides, and multimedia visual aids
  • Lead and manage the intake process and content development of learning programs
  • Assess associates to measure progress and evaluate the effectiveness of training
  • Pilot and execute the development of management training programs
  • Design strategies and tools to assess and identify capability/skill gaps and enable the team to build learning plans
  • Identify, select, evaluate, and manage learning vendor partnerships and processes
  • Work with leadership and HR Business partner teams to understand management's perspective on specific work situations
  • Create a culture of continuous development and monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development programs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or Learning & Organizational Development, or in a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience within adult learning methodologies, curricula creation, leadership development, and career development
  • Knowledge of training methods, processes, and procedures; able to create effective training programs for the adult learner
  • 3+ years of experience leading others and working collaboratively across functions
  • Strong experience managing multiple, concurrent learning projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of leadership and peers
  • Strong influencing and consulting skills
  • Strong analytical and critical strategic thinking, negotiating skills, and a thorough understanding of available technologies
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Self-directed with strong organizational skills
  • Established experience as an instructional design manager and strategic systems thinker
  • Ability to make decisions requiring complex problem solving
  • Proven design, development, implementation, and evaluation skills with a strong project management approach
  • Self-motivated to drive business objectives and department timelines
  • Highly collaborative, able to work with a variety of personalities and roles, thrives in a high-performing, creative environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Human Resources or a directly related field
  • 10+ years' experience; 5+ years of experience leading others, preferably within the Learning function
  • Significant learning program creation and execution experience with measurable results
  • Experienced in change management methodologies & principles
