Job Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative is a key member of the Porter Pipe & Supply team, responsible for driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires a strong sales and customer service background, with a focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a positive customer service culture, both internally and externally.
  • Provide quotes to customers based on technical product specifications, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
  • Support the Outside Sales team by providing timely quotations and order processing, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
  • Field customer phone calls and communicate with customers to meet their needs, providing outstanding customer service.
  • Follow up on orders and expedite when necessary, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Work with management and outside sales representatives to ensure customer needs are being met, driving sales growth and customer loyalty.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manufacturer partners to grow relationships and stay up-to-date on new products and technology.
  • Review daily reports to ensure backorders are filled on a timely basis and customers are completely satisfied.
  • Work with purchasing to source non-stock items when inventory is not available, ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Closing sales directly with customers and alongside the Outside Sales team, driving revenue growth.
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Coordinate quotations and sales orders through the Company's sales software, SX, in collaboration with warehouse management software, TWL.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, driving continuous quality improvement.
  • Manage customer projects through their duration, ensuring all customer/project needs are met.
  • Market, promote, and understand all of the Company's Service-related items, driving sales growth and customer loyalty.
  • Support the warehouse, sales counter, and will call to ensure a positive customer experience when necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility.

Requirements:

  • Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Requires the ability to effectively build rapport with both internal and external customers.
  • Requires a positive attitude and ability to function both independently and in a team setting.
  • Must possess strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
  • General Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Service Minded.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, assign effective priorities to tasks, and to operate with a certain level of autonomy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of sales experience within the commercial PVF industry is required.
  • Prior experience in sales of HVAC and boiler Hydronic Heating systems is required.
  • Prior customer service experience.
