Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, ensuring accurate and timely medical records, and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Services: Provide efficient and high-quality service to patients, including greeting and registering patients, coordinating scheduling, and answering incoming telephone calls.
  • Billing Services: Ensure accurate entry of billing information and follow up on missing information to ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Medical Record Services: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including releasing information according to corporate policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years of related customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CRT/PC experience in a customer service setting.
  • Working knowledge of eClinicalWorks and scheduling sections of the eClinicalWorks system a plus.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, multiple-task environment.
  • Exposure to ill patients.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers.
