Patient Service Representative

As a Patient Service Representative with Advocate Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and service. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that patients receive efficient and high-quality service, whether they are visiting for appointments or contacting us by phone or in person. You will be the first point of contact for patients, answering their questions, resolving their concerns, and providing them with accurate information about their tests, procedures, bills, and charges.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional patient service, ensuring that patients receive timely and accurate information about their appointments, tests, and procedures.
- Collect maximum possible fees at the time of service and ensure accurate follow-up billing information.
- Uphold standards of the practice and of the medical group for accurate and timely medical records.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to three years of customer service experience in a high-volume, high-stress environment.
- Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CRT/PC experience in a customer service setting.
- Working knowledge of the BAR and scheduling sections of the IDX system.
- Strong interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in a high-volume, multiple-task environment.
- Exposure to ill patients.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers.
