Staff Accountant Job Description

Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Elizabethtown Campus is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial records of our organization are accurate and compliant with generally accepted accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounting for property, plant, and equipment, including recording and classifying asset purchases and deletions, maintaining subsidiary asset records, and reconciling subsidiary records to the general ledger.
  • Accounting for donor-restricted funds, including recording and classifying expenditures, maintaining subsidiary records, and providing status reports to the Office of Mission Advancement and Development.
  • Processing and recording scholarship expenditures of the Pennsylvania Masonic Youth Foundation, maintaining all necessary records to ensure compliance with related donor-restricted funds.
  • Assisting in performance of various cash management tasks, including acting as primary backup to the Staff Accountant-Cash and Data Entry Specialist for processing of cash deposits and other data entry.
  • Working closely with auditors during the year-end close by providing reconciliations and explanations for various accounts and transactions.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Related associate degree in accounting or minimum two years of accounting experience.
  • Computer experience required, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency with keyboard and calculator.
