Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Insurance Account Manager to join our team at Houchens Insurance Group. As an Insurance Account Manager, you will be responsible for analyzing and answering requests from policyholders and internal production and marketing personnel for information concerning insurance policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain direct communication and build relationships with insureds to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Review and invoice policies, and request changes as necessary to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Analyze quotes and finalize proposals for accounts to ensure optimal coverage and pricing.
  • Generate summaries and proposals for coverage and reviews with the producer or client to ensure seamless communication.
  • Issue binders, invoices, certificates, and endorsements requests as needed to facilitate policy implementation.
  • Keep sales staff informed of delinquent accounts receivables to ensure timely payment.
  • Assist with file audits of smaller accounts to ensure compliance with Commercial Lines service standards and procedures.
  • Develop Producer and Service Leader confidence in job knowledge, judgment calls, and awareness of current industry trends and developments.
  • Handle complex policy issues and find resolution with minimal Producer/Service Leader involvement.
Renewal Marketing
  • Market groups with under $10,000 in revenue and no affiliation with a larger account and prepare a formal renewal presentation.
  • Manage renewal timeline and renewal process to ensure timely and efficient renewal.
  • Work with clients to gather marketing data and seek opportunities for potential upselling of accounts.
  • Send accounts to several markets for quoting, including online quoting, if applicable.
  • Review, analyze, and compare quotes vs. current coverage to ensure optimal pricing and coverage.
  • Negotiate client renewals with carriers based on competitive information.
  • Provide analysis for the Producer and prepare a formal proposal for Producers to deliver to customers.
  • Complete binding instructions, issue instructions to companies, and update applications as necessary.
  • Complete renewal in the system and with clients, including binders, certificates of insurance, billing, auto ID cards, etc.
Teamwork and Determination
  • Work together with the team and with other departments, such as Marketing, Accounting, Claims, etc., to discuss execution strategies with Producers.
  • Assist in training new service team members and volunteer to back up and/or assist others as needed.
  • Manage PTO to work with departmental needs and display commitment and initiative to meet department and agency education goals as outlined in the organization's education program.

Requirements:

  • At least three years related insurance experience and/or training, preferably handling multi-line, large commercial accounts.
  • Must hold applicable state insurance license or have the ability to obtain such within 90 days of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain insurance designations as set forth by the organization's education plan.
