Position Overview:
The Bartender plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional beverage service, encompassing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Compensation:
This role offers an hourly wage starting at $10, plus tips.

Part-Time Benefits:

Venue Information:
The Iowa Events Center is a flexible 260,000-square-foot facility designed to host a diverse array of events. From sophisticated galas and fundraisers to weddings, conventions, and expos, we facilitate over 400 unique events annually. Our expansive venue can be tailored to accommodate virtually any vision or concept, ensuring that each event is distinctive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a commitment to exceptional guest service, effective interaction with colleagues, and adherence to uniform standards.
  • Adhere to bar pre-shift notes and menus, providing service as outlined.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Acquire knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirit options, and develop skills to suggestively upsell products to patrons.
  • Pour drinks responsibly, following company standards for serving sizes.
  • Verify guests' ages by checking IDs in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Communicate cut-off times to guests as necessary.
  • Respond to customer requests and concerns with attentiveness.
  • Request additional products or restock as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, ensuring bar equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including setting up and breaking down bar equipment and assisting with cooler organization.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience of six months or more in bartending, though not mandatory.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Self-motivated while being a collaborative team player.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extended hours.
