Role Summary: The Art Handling Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the secure management of artworks throughout various processes, including packing, transportation, and installation. This position also involves providing leadership and direction during projects while serving as a key communication link between clients and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely handle and transport artworks, employing appropriate wrapping, packing, and crating techniques.
- Execute the installation and de-installation of artworks during onsite assignments using the correct tools and methods.
- Manage the handling of decorative arts and furniture, ensuring proper packing and crating procedures are followed.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of transport vehicles to guarantee the safe transit of items.
- Strategically plan the organization and packing of transport vehicles to maximize safety during transit.
- Conduct thorough inspection reports for a variety of art objects.
- Lead and mentor a team, providing guidance and support throughout project execution.
- Act as a liaison between clients and company management during onsite activities.
- Develop project strategies, particularly in the absence of senior staff.
