Middle School English Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School English Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social growth for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Instructional Leadership: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of our students, including those with special needs, English Language Learners, and students performing below grade level.
- Classroom Management: Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes active learning, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Assessment and Data Analysis: Regularly assess student progress, analyze data, and adjust instruction to ensure students meet academic standards.
- Communication and Collaboration: Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in English education and to enhance teaching skills.
- Experience: Teaching experience at the middle school level, preferably with a focus on English language arts.
- Licensure: Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure in English education, or eligibility for a licensure waiver.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in English education or a related field.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience as an anti-racist educator, bilingualism in English and Spanish, and a commitment to social justice.
