We are seeking a highly qualified Humanities Educator to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. As a Middle School Humanities Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic growth and development of our students, particularly those with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE).
Key Responsibilities- Instructional Leadership: Develop and implement high-quality, research-based curriculum to ensure grade-level rigor and engagement for all students.
- Student Support: Provide embedded interventions and scaffolding to support students who require additional assistance, working closely with a co-taught team of educators.
- Family Engagement: Foster strong relationships with students and families, working collaboratively to address challenges and celebrate successes.
- Anti-Racist Practices: Embed anti-racist instructional practices to ensure students own the learning and develop a growth mindset.
- Experience: Teaching English, Humanities, or History at the middle and/or high school level, with a preference for experience teaching English Learners.
- Licensure: Appropriate content/program area educator license (MS Humanities) and grade-level licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required.
