We are seeking an experienced English educator to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. As an Academic Leader for Middle and High School English, you will be responsible for creating a safe and purposeful learning environment that prioritizes the needs of all students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure instruction is meeting the needs of all students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Build relationships with students and their families to solicit input and share academic progress
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in education
Qualifications
  • Experience teaching English at the middle and/or high school level
  • Appropriate content/program area and grade level educator license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
  • Experience as an active anti-racist or advocate for equity
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Bachelor's degree
