ROLE OVERVIEW
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is vital in refining our production methodologies, ensuring high product standards while enhancing efficiency and minimizing waste.

This role necessitates a robust background in manufacturing, with substantial experience in Lean Manufacturing practices and the leadership acumen to guide a team of process engineers towards achieving our operational enhancement objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process Enhancement:
    Identify and implement strategies to improve manufacturing workflows, reduce waste, and boost overall productivity to meet output goals. Employ Lean Manufacturing techniques such as value stream mapping, 5S, and poka-yoke to facilitate improvements.
  • Team Management:
    Lead and mentor a team of process engineers, offering direction and support to promote ongoing enhancements.
  • Quality Control:
    Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to establish and uphold quality control protocols, ensuring all products meet or surpass established quality benchmarks.
  • Cost Analysis:
    Examine production expenses and introduce cost-effective strategies without compromising quality or safety. Review labor hour trends by activity and product configuration, proposing measures to enhance labor efficiency.
  • Risk Management:
    Conduct PFMEAs to identify potential risks and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Technology Adoption:
    Assess and integrate new manufacturing technologies and tools to elevate productivity and product quality. Collaborate with finance, product development, and suppliers to analyze new equipment to ensure informed sourcing decisions.
  • Supplier Engagement:
    Work closely with the Supply Chain team to guarantee timely procurement of components and materials while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
  • Safety Standards:
    Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to all safety regulations and compliance standards in manufacturing processes.
  • Data Monitoring:
    Utilize analytical tools to track and assess key performance indicators, identifying areas for potential improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Encourage a culture of ongoing improvement, motivating team members to propose and implement innovative solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
A minimum of ten years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering within a manufacturing setting.
At least two years of experience in a managerial role.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$149-164K base salary, commensurate with skills and experience. Performance bonus of 10%.

Three weeks of paid vacation plus one week of sick leave.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Modern, air-conditioned facility with diverse production processes including welding, painting, assembly, quality assurance, and warehousing.
Safety eyewear is mandatory, and additional PPE may be required in specific areas.
Limited travel may be necessary to engage with suppliers as needed.
