Job Title: Technical Program Manager

Luminar Technologies is a leading global automotive technology company that is revolutionizing the industry with its advanced hardware and software/AI platform. We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager to lead projects through all Engineering phases of the Product lifecycle.

Job Summary:

The Technical Program Manager will oversee cross-functional technical engagement within Luminar and ensure successful customer development and value delivery. This role will partner with functional leads, DRIs (Direct Responsible Individuals), and other platform TPMs to deliver successful projects to the customer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate program requirements and milestones into detailed execution plans for engineering functional teams
  • Drive execution to these plans, conduct team meetings, communicate status, and identify/resolve blocking issues
  • Engage with other TPMs in all technical aspects of development
  • Work directly with OEMs to align on product requirements, performance, and integration of the sensor platform to the OEM environment
  • Escalate risks and issues promptly and drive them to closure
  • Proactively coordinate across functional groups to manage dependencies between Hardware, Software, and suppliers
  • Continuously evaluate internal processes to improve efficiency
  • Oversee engineering alignment within Luminar's product development process
  • Prepare and disseminate project status reports, including KPIs
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in an Engineering or Technical related field
  • 5+ years of technical project/program management experience in the Automotive space
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools such as MS Project, Confluence, Jira and ERP tools like Arena
  • Experience defining release readiness criteria, ensuring all changes comply before deployment
  • Able to work successfully with cross-functional and geographical distributed teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Certification
  • Knowledge of Embedded Systems and Software
  • Knowledge and Experience in the Development of a Hardware Product
  • Master's in an Engineering Degree or Technical related field
  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 experience

At Luminar, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays a base between $102,000 and $185,000 per year. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. You will also be eligible to receive other benefits including equity in the form of restricted stock unit awards, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, 401k plan, life and disability benefits, flexible time off, paid parental leave, and tuition reimbursement for formal education related to advancing your career at Luminar.
