Job Overview

The role of a Caregiver involves providing essential support to clients in accordance with a detailed care plan developed by the agency's Care Manager. This position encompasses a variety of personal care services as well as supportive tasks that promote a comfortable living environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 1,000 hours of experience in long-term care with elderly or chronically ill individuals, equating to approximately 6 months of full-time or 12 months of part-time work. Exceptions may apply for newly certified CNAs or HHAs, or individuals providing only companionship and housekeeping services.
  • Preferred certification as a CNA or HHA.
  • Current TB test results.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties.
  • Reliable transportation is essential; valid driver's license and automobile insurance are required if transporting clients.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary.
  • Must demonstrate maturity, compassion, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is mandatory.
  • Provision of verifiable professional and personal references is required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehend and implement the client's care plan effectively.
  • Provide assistance to clients as outlined in their care plan, which may include companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation, shopping, medication reminders, bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility assistance, and supervision.
  • Report any client concerns, changes in condition, or emergencies to the Care Manager promptly.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and notify the office when personal protective equipment (PPE) or supplies are needed.
  • Utilize the ClearCare Telephony system for accurate clocking in and out, and update task statuses before leaving the client's residence.
  • Follow the company dress code as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled shifts.
  • Engage in ongoing training as required by client care needs and company policy updates.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures as specified in the Employee Handbook.
Organizational Structure:

The Caregiver operates under the supervision of the Care Manager and receives scheduling guidance from the Staffing Coordinator.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Ability to reposition and transfer clients safely.
  • Capable of supporting clients' weight using appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
  • Travel to clients' residences using dependable transportation.
