Job Overview

As a Personal Care Assistant at Homewell Care Services of Maryland, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of daily living tasks as outlined in a personalized care plan developed by our Care Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide essential personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support clients with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and errands, ensuring a comfortable living environment.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive atmosphere for clients.
  • Transport clients as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort during outings.
  • Maintain open communication with the Care Manager regarding any changes in client condition or concerns.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 1,000 hours of experience in long-term care with elderly or chronically ill individuals.
  • Preferred certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA).
  • Current TB testing documentation.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with client care.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license, if required to transport clients.
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, dependable demeanor.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Provision of professional and personal references.
Work Environment

The Personal Care Assistant will work under the supervision of the Care Manager and will receive scheduling direction from the Staffing Coordinator. This role may require physical activity, including the repositioning and transferring of clients.
