As a Campus Security Officer at Brandeis University, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Public Safety and the Duty Shift Sergeant, you will patrol university buildings, grounds, and adjacent areas, enforcing Commonwealth of Massachusetts laws and university regulations.
You will project an image of willing and helpful community service, responding to all intrusion/fire alarms, investigating causes, and performing necessary follow-up responsibilities. You will also exercise police powers in a judicious manner, exercising discretion and good judgment at all times.
Additionally, you will control UHF communications networks, monitor alarms and CCTV, and dispatch patrol cars for action. A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential, as you will work in an environment that values and celebrates diversity.
Requirements include an associate's degree and up to 2 years of related work experience. You must also be able to obtain and retain a Massachusetts Class A license to carry a firearm and successfully complete firearms qualifications.
