Position Overview

The Environmental Control Technician plays a crucial role in conducting certifications, testing, and maintenance of Clean Rooms, hoods, and infusion centers across pharmacies, laboratories, and hospitals nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service accounts to ensure thorough and precise verifications and certifications of Clean Rooms, Biological Safety Cabinets, Laminar Flow Hoods, Fume Hoods, and other controlled environment apparatus.
  • Travel along a designated route to test, certify, and perform maintenance or repairs on controlled environment equipment.
  • Utilize the Field Aware system for scheduling, tracking jobs, and reporting time.
  • Employ MS Excel for mathematical calculations related to customer reporting.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and provide detailed reports on equipment performance.
  • Communicate daily activities and field issues to the support center.
  • Refer leads to the appropriate Sales Representative when received.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain organized and clean workspaces.
  • Wear appropriate safety gear.
  • Maintain the vehicle and equipment in a professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Diagnose issues, replace and repair components, test, and make necessary adjustments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to carry equipment and climb ladders.
  • Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, hold equipment, and drive for extended periods.

Work Schedule

  • This is a full-time role, typically working Monday through Friday, with variations based on job requirements.
  • Some nights, weekends, and overnight travel may be necessary depending on job needs.

Travel Requirements

  • Traveling 75% or more may be required, including potential overnight stays.

Qualifications

  • CETA, NEBB, or NSF certification is preferred but not mandatory at the start.
  • Willingness to obtain industry certifications during employment (within 2-3 years).
  • Experience in air balancing, biomedical services, pharmaceutical operations, HVAC, environmental testing, and clean rooms is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Field Service Technician, ideally 3-5 years.
  • Strong mathematical, mechanical, and electrical skills are essential.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about quality and accuracy.
  • Highly organized with exceptional customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to travel, work flexible hours, and adjust schedules to meet customer needs.
