Role Overview:
The Production Operations Leader is responsible for orchestrating, guiding, and managing the activities within the manufacturing facility. This pivotal role focuses on driving continuous enhancement, operational performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability across departmental and organizational functions. The leader also plays a crucial role in fostering employee development through effective methodologies and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advocates for the organization's Safety Program and complies with all safety regulations and protocols. Holds both self and team accountable for safety adherence while supporting training initiatives and compliance efforts.
  • Ensures the achievement of all operational targets for the organization. Develops and approves production and sales objectives, along with short and long-term operational strategies. Responsible for establishing processes and performance metrics to evaluate the success of these goals.
  • Oversees the scheduling and execution of planned maintenance for equipment.
  • Employs a coaching management approach to nurture direct reports and encourage their professional growth. Ensures clarity in expectations and provides necessary resources for success.
  • Upholds and promotes company values such as loyalty, trust, respect, empowerment, and ownership through leading by example and supporting organizational decisions and employee policies.
  • Collaborates closely with the management team to establish and implement policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Maintains regular communication with senior management regarding any challenges or issues affecting production.
  • Ensures the organization meets all financial targets, including revenue, margins, expenses, return on investment (ROI), and capital expenditures (CapEx), while providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Facilitates excellent communication across various company divisions, locations, and employees, establishing a culture of continuous engagement.
  • Builds strong relationships with customers, vendors, and external partners.
  • Encourages collaboration between Operations and Sales teams.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels and effective scheduling.
  • Provides visionary leadership in data-driven continuous improvement and lean process optimization to surpass productivity and quality benchmarks.
  • Consults with Human Resources to ensure appropriate personnel actions, including hiring, promotions, and compensation.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintains facilities to ensure they are conducive to employee productivity, satisfaction, and safety, while also being appealing to customers and the community.
  • Performs additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations management role is required. A preferred background includes five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, strong leadership capabilities, and proficiency in managing frontline leaders and staff. Knowledge of Lean/TPS and an accredited Six Sigma Green Belt are advantageous. A solid understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, along with excellent analytical and presentation skills, is essential.
