About the Position

The Department of Radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled imaging scientist to join our team. As a key member of our research section, you will be responsible for expanding new and ongoing technical and ultrasound contrast media development, translational research, and clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new ultrasound instrumentation and techniques
  • Conduct research and experiments in ultrasound imaging and contrast media development
  • Collaborate with physicians and scientists in the CACTUS lab and TRUST lab
  • Seek extramural funding for independent research and participate in collaborative projects
  • Participate in ultrasound education programs and contribute to the development of new educational materials
Requirements
  • PhD in physics, medical physics, or engineering (biomedical, electrical or mechanical)
  • Documented ultrasound experience and expertise in acoustics, data acquisition, and signal processing
  • Experience in pulse design and sequencing, beam forming, output power analysis, and spectral data quantitation
  • Programming skills and interest in artificial intelligence applications in ultrasound image analysis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-doctoral training in ultrasound research
  • Strong publication record and peer-reviewed funding in the areas of ultrasound research
